My Conversation

Today was a very fun day. I had a very exciting walk. Usually I don’t really see anyone or run into anyone to talk to or interact with. Today was not much different until I came to a curve in the street. I weight there and looked around just to enjoy the ambiance. Then someone came up to me and said “Hello”. We had a very nice conversation about the weather and other things that were pleasant and easy conversation. He asked me for directions because his vehicle had broken down and he needed to find a public phone. These are very rare because there are almost no pedestrians these days. I happen to know where one of these rare phones was and I directed him to it.  On the way home I wondered what the world would be like if there were more people outside walking and enjoying the things I enjoy every day.  I could hardly imagine how even more fun and exciting my walks would be if I had conversations with people along the way. I do like the solitary part of my walks and I think they are fun even if I don’t have any conversations but I interacting with people can be a magical thing.

Back from rehab

I have had a very crazy couple of days. I was put in a rehabilitation center. I was surprised and confused at first and it was a very unusual experience. I am home now and I am starting to feel like myself again. I know that the people at the rehab center would be angry if they knew that I planned to take another walk tonight, but this is what I enjoy to do and think I have every right to do it. I was very tired when I first came home from the rehabilitation center so I did not blog until today. It was impossible to sleep at the center because of all the strange sounds I heard during the night. I felt like I was the most normal person there. The people at the center were very out of touch and almost like robots. They followed procedure and tried to teach me how to be “normal”. It has obviously had no effect on me because I have resumed my activity as normal. It is not that I am stubborn, but I like my life and have no intention of changing no matter what some social code says about how I should behave.

I am not a big fan of viewing screens

I was having a peaceful meal earlier today at my dinner table when it was interrupted by the sound of a viewing screen. The noise is sudden and loud and I don’t like it at all. That is just one of the reasons I don’t have one. Honestly I don’t see why anyone would want to spend their time staring at a blank screen when they can walk around and see and experience things. I am not mad at my neighbors with the loud viewing screen though. They are just like about everyone else I have met because of this passion for the viewing screen. After I finished dinner I took a short nap before my walk. I had a dream that I was taking a walk and instead of long empty sidewalks, there were many people to talk to and be with. I had conversations with about everyone that I ran into. When I woke up though, I remembered it was a dream and that the sidewalks would be empty as usual. Its not all bad though, I can be alone with my thoughts and ideas when I take a walk. That’s why it is the best part of my day. One of my favorite things to think about is what the world will be like in the future. I think I will go for a walk right now!

New Balance shoes are great!

Today was a big day, I went to the mall to get some new walking shoes. Luckily I can walk to the mall from my house and I don’t have to ride in a car or bus.  I don’t usually like to go to the mall because it is hard to walk in a organized and straight way because of all the boisterous people. Once I finally got to the shoe store I was very excited about my new shoes. I love the ones I have but want to have a backup pair ready in case something happens to the ones I use now.  My new shoes are New Balance and they are even more comfortable than my current shoes. I had to make sure that they did not make any sound when I walked with them; any noise could be a problem on my long late walks.  I even put them on for the short walk home. I was at first upset that no one seemed to say anything about my new shoes on the way home. Then again, most people don’t pay much attention to me anyway. I had my new shoes so it was hard to be upset. Later I had a great first walk with the new shoes. I wonder which shoes I will use tomorrow!
